MISS SL 2023 – Calling for the first audition!

We are pleased and excited to begin our 21st competition and the 8th MISS SL pageant with the first live audition! In this first audition the applicants from our first application round will be introduced to the judges, who will select the first group of official candidates for the MISS SL 2023 pageant!

Congratulations to every of the applicants. We are looking forward to seeing you in our audition. Please read below how to prepare for the audition.

STYLING

Please prepare a minimal chic outfit to be worn outdoors in the Winter season. Please read below about the following expectations we are having:

• Please imagine you are going to the opening of an outdoor art exhibition in New York City in the Winter 2023. The news articles about the art installations by the Metropolitan Museum of Arts in Central Park suggest that there will be numerous celebrities present at the opening ceremony. 
• Please style accordingly with a minimal chic outfit.
• There’s no colour limitation or requirement for the audition.
• Please do not hide your face with large hats or sunglasses. You can still use large hats and sunglasses, if you know how to take these off during your presentation.

POSES

Please do not worry, if you do not have experience with runway posing yet. We are offering a workshop and feedback to teach you about it.

• Please prepare a set with runway poses and a walking animation. The pose set should be good for a 40 to 60 seconds lasting performance.
• Your poses and walk are secondary for this audition.

VPC / COMMUNICATION

You are required to acquire and use a VPC-HUD. The VPC-HUD gets used during all rehearsals, auditions, challenges and other events by MISS SL Organization. Please see the link below to buy the VPC-HUD from the Second Life marketplace:

• You will get contacted within the next 48 hours, asking you to confirm your participation in the audition.
• You will receive a notecard, containing the walk order, the VPC code and other instructions for the audition, on Thursday, January 19th, 2023, in the late afternoon SLT.

REHEARSALS

Your participation in one of the both scheduled rehearsals is mandatory, to be eligible to walk in the audition.

The rehearsals for the first audition for the MISS SL ♛ 2023 competition are scheduled for

• Friday, January 20th at 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. SLT.
• It is mandatory to attend one (1) of the both rehearsals. You can attend both rehearsals, too.
• The landmark for the backstage area will get sent to you on the day of the rehearsals, before the first rehearsal.

THE AUDITION

The audition for the MISS SL ♛ 2023 competition is scheduled for Saturday, January 21st at 10 a.m. SLT and is open for public attendance.

• You are requested to be at the backstage area at least 45 minutes before the audition begins.
• We are estimating the audition to last about 60 – 90 minutes.
• After the audition we will meet briefly to announce the result of the audition and to explain the next steps.
